What's new: Season 5 & the map-pool swap

Valve's July 8, 2026 update kicked off Premier Season Five. The headline map change is exact: Cache entered and Overpass left the Active Duty pool, putting Cache into Premier's pick/ban environment.

Also in this update

  • C4 damage on official defusal maps now expands as a simulated shockwave; geometry and corners affect the blast instead of damage applying instantly everywhere in range.
  • The Armory added Spy Tech and Arabesque weapon collections plus Fruits & Vegetables and Auto Racing sticker collections.
  • Boulder, Fachwerk, and Shelter joined Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch; Debris and El Dorado joined Wingman.
  • Follow-up updates on July 9, 14, and 20 fixed C4 edge cases, refreshed community maps, and added a bomb-damage health preview when the bomb becomes audible.
