How Fortnite Ranked works — verified against Epic's official docs — every rank, how to unlock it, and how to climb.
Ranked sorts you into skill-based lobbies. Your rank moves based on placement and eliminations each match, and the percentage you see is your progress toward the next tier. Ranked runs separately across Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Reload — each has its own rank.
You unlock Ranked by completing the “Outlast 500 players” Kickstart quest.

Ranks partially reset at the start of each season, so expect to re-climb a few divisions. Reaching high ranks unlocks eligibility for Epic-hosted tournaments (including FNCS) and can earn exclusive cosmetic rewards.
