Dispute and Chargeback Policy
Last updated September 21, 2026
Effective September 21, 2026 · Version dispute-chargeback-2026-09-21-v1
This policy is incorporated into the Terms and distinguishes a PlayerVault Order Dispute from an external bank/payment-provider dispute. Nothing requires waiver of a chargeback, card-network, statutory, or other non-waivable right.
1. Use PlayerVault first when reasonably possible
If reasonably possible, message the Seller in Order chat and make a good-faith effort to use PlayerVault’s implemented dispute/support process before filing externally. This can preserve delivery records and allow faster correction. You need not delay where unauthorized payment, urgent security risk, legal deadline, or provider rule makes prior contact impracticable.
2. Opening an Order Dispute
Before confirmation and protection-period expiry, use the Order’s dispute control if available or contact Support immediately. State the problem, requested result, and relevant evidence. A Dispute pauses auto-completion/payout only when PlayerVault confirms the Order is in `disputed` or another pause state. A Seller message or support request that has not changed Order state is not a technical pause; ask Support to confirm.
3. Eligible grounds
- non-delivery or material delay beyond agreed terms;
- materially not-as-described, wrong, invalid, recovered, reversed, or incomplete delivery;
- incorrect quantity or missing part of agreed Boosting scope;
- duplicate transaction, payment-processing error, fraud, or account compromise;
- another express protection or mandatory-law ground.
4. Evidence and cooperation
PlayerVault may consider the stored Listing/offer and fee snapshot, acceptance versions/time, payment result, delivery events, auto/manual delivery record, Order chat, secure-access audit, login/security signals, Buyer confirmation or auto-completion, refund history, and relevant party evidence. Parties must respond truthfully, preserve records, and avoid fabrication, editing, threats, or irrelevant sensitive data. PlayerVault may give a reasonable cure opportunity without extending the deadline unless the Order is actually paused.
5. Internal review and outcomes
Support may request more information and apply a result supported by the evidence and current tools, including completion, cancellation, Balance credit, approved full/partial original-method refund, corrective delivery, or enforcement. PlayerVault is not a court and its voluntary-program decision does not eliminate mandatory legal or payment rights.
6. External Payment Disputes
- Give the bank, network, wallet, or payment provider truthful and complete information, including prior refunds or credits and whether delivery occurred.
- Do not seek duplicate recovery from PlayerVault and a provider for the same loss or dispute an amount already refunded without disclosing it.
- PlayerVault may suspend affected buying, selling, Balance, API, or payout functionality while a Payment Dispute and related fraud/security risk are investigated.
- PlayerVault may lawfully respond with relevant transaction, assent, payment, login, device, delivery, communication, confirmation, and refund evidence.
- Provider/network rules control their process and outcome; PlayerVault cannot guarantee a win, reversal, deadline extension, or evidence acceptance.
7. Good-faith disputes versus abuse
A legitimate good-faith Payment Dispute, even if PlayerVault or the Seller disagrees, is not by itself misconduct. Proven abuse is different and includes knowingly false statements, fabricated evidence, intentional duplicate recovery, collusion, use of a stolen payment method, disputing a knowingly conforming delivery as “not received,” or repeated filings designed to retain both goods and funds.
8. Consequences of proven abuse
Where supported by reliable evidence and permitted by law, PlayerVault may restrict or terminate Accounts, cancel related Orders, reverse invalid credits, offset amounts legitimately owed against Seller earnings or other applicable balances, require repayment, preserve/report fraud evidence, or pursue lawful remedies. PlayerVault does not label a claim abusive solely because a provider rejects it or the User loses.
9. Seller liability and payout holds
A valid refund/chargeback may reverse pending Seller earnings, debit available Seller balance, create a negative Seller balance, and offset future releases as authorized by Seller Terms. PlayerVault may hold or reserve related payout amounts during review. No automatic external bank/card debit is authorized by this policy.
10. Evidence minimization and card-data boundary
PlayerVault will generate a purpose-limited evidence package containing only what is relevant: Order ID/date/amount, permitted Buyer account identifiers, checkout acceptance/version, Listing/offer snapshot, payment reference/status, delivery timestamps/evidence, confirmation/auto-completion, selected relevant chat excerpts, appropriate login/device/use evidence, and dispute/refund history. Full card numbers, CVC, passwords, bank credentials, crypto keys, unrelated identity documents, and unrelated communications are excluded. Evidence exports are hashed and access/submission is audited.
11. Finality and savings
Expiration of PlayerVault’s voluntary protection period or an internal decision does not waive statutory consumer, privacy, card-network, bank, or payment-provider rights that cannot lawfully be waived. Conversely, an external filing does not erase a valid debt or permit duplicate recovery where law allows PlayerVault to establish it.
